Compress Image to Exact KB — Batch
Direct answer: drop up to 20 images and KBExact fits every one to the same exact KB ceiling or window — searching quality first, then dimensions — and hands them back individually or as one ZIP. It all happens in your browser; nothing is uploaded.
🔒 Processed 100% in your browser, in a background worker so your phone never freezes.
Exact, not "about right"
Slider compressors make you guess: drag, download, check the size, drag again. KBExact inverts that — you state the number and the engine binary-searches the highest quality that fits under it, stepping dimensions down only when quality alone cannot get there. Every result shows its before/after size and the method used.
Fixed numbers are pre-loaded on their own pages: image to 20 KB, to 50 KB, to 100 KB, to 200 KB. If your file is a photo or signature for a specific exam portal, the photo & signature resizer adds the crop and the exact pixel dimensions on top of the size window. And when a portal demands a minimum size, use increase file size in KB.
Questions
How many images can I process at once?
Up to 20 in one batch. Processing runs in a background worker, so the page stays responsive while the batch runs. Download files one by one or all together as a ZIP.
Which formats are supported?
JPG, PNG, WebP and HEIC (from iPhones) as input. Output is JPEG by default, or PNG when you need PNG — note that a PNG often cannot reach very small targets, in which case the report will suggest JPEG, which is what almost all portals accept.
What happens to my photo's metadata?
It is stripped. EXIF location and camera data do not belong in a portal upload, and removing them also saves bytes. The photo's on-screen orientation is honoured before the metadata is removed, so your photo never comes out sideways.
Can I give one file a different target?
Yes. Each row in the batch list has an optional per-file target field. Leave it blank to use the batch target.
A file is already smaller than the target — what happens?
In ceiling mode it is passed through at the best quality that fits, which usually means it barely changes. In window mode, if it falls below the minimum, it is enlarged honestly — see our increase-size tool for how that works.
