Increase File Size in KB
Direct answer: yes, a file can be too small — portals with a minimum size reject it. KBExact grows an image or PDF to the minimum you set, using genuine methods first (maximum quality, larger dimensions, lossless saving) and padding only as a last resort that is always disclosed in the result report.

How we grow the file (in this order)
1) Re-encode at maximum quality · 2) Upscale the dimensions · 3) Save losslessly · 4) Only as a last resort, add padding — and we always tell you. Some portals strip padding or reject padded files.
The honest way up
Most "increase file size" tools quietly stuff your file with filler and say nothing. That can backfire: the portal's own checker may strip or reject exactly that kind of file, and you find out at the deadline. KBExact's order of operations is genuine growth first — the same pixels, kept at higher quality or larger dimensions — and only then, if the minimum is still out of reach, disclosed padding. If your portal gives a window (a minimum and a maximum), the image compressor's window mode or the photo & signature resizer lands you inside it in one step. If your file is a PDF with a ceiling instead, go to PDF to Exact KB. And if a rejection has already happened, why portals reject files walks through every common cause.
Questions
Why would a portal demand a MINIMUM file size?
Minimums are meant to guarantee legibility — a photo compressed to almost nothing cannot be verified. Some government photo services, for example, set a minimum in the tens of KB for digital photo uploads. If your file falls under it, the upload is rejected just as firmly as an oversized one.
How do you make a file bigger without faking it?
In order: re-encode at maximum quality, upscale the dimensions, save losslessly. Only when none of that reaches the minimum do we add padding — invisible filler data — and the result report says so in plain words, because some portals strip padding or reject padded files.
Is padding cheating?
It is a grey area we refuse to hide. Padding changes no visible pixel, but a portal that checks for it can refuse the file. That is why it is our last resort, why it is disclosed in every report, and why the genuine methods always run first.
My image needs to be AT LEAST a size and exactly some dimensions — can you do both?
Yes: use the photo & signature resizer, which works to a min–max window and exact pixel dimensions together.
