IBPS Photo & Signature Size

Direct answer: Per Annexure III of the official IBPS CRP PO/MT-XVI notification: the photograph is 20–50 KB, 200 × 230 pixels (preferred), JPG/JPEG, taken from a 4.5 cm × 3.5 cm photo. The signature is 10–20 KB, 140 × 60 pixels (preferred), JPG/JPEG — and a signature in CAPITAL LETTERS is not accepted. The tool below is pre-loaded with the photo spec; switch it to Signature for the second file.

IBPS is the most precise of the Indian exam portals: it gives you a KB window and preferred pixel dimensions for both files, in Annexure III ("Guidelines for Scanning and Upload of Documents") of the CRP notification. That precision is good news — meet both numbers exactly and this upload does not come back.

One requirement catches people out: IBPS captures a live photograph during the application in addition to the uploaded photograph. Prepare the compliant upload file below, and be ready to sit for the live capture in decent light, looking straight at the camera.

For the signature: sign in your normal hand — the annexure is explicit that a signature in CAPITAL LETTERS will not be accepted — on plain white paper, and keep it inside the 140 × 60 frame. If your scanned signature is slightly over 20 KB, do not keep re-scanning it; fit it with the tool instead.

Scanner settings that work: 200 DPI is plenty for a 200 × 230 output. Scanning at very high DPI only makes the fitting harder and the edges dirtier.

Questions

What is the IBPS photo size?

20 KB to 50 KB, 200 × 230 pixels (preferred), JPG/JPEG — from a 4.5 cm × 3.5 cm photograph (Annexure III, CRP PO/MT-XVI notification).

What is the IBPS signature size?

10 KB to 20 KB, 140 × 60 pixels (preferred), JPG/JPEG. Signatures in CAPITAL LETTERS are not accepted.

Does IBPS also take a live photo?

Yes — the same annexure provides for a live photograph capture during the application, in addition to the uploaded photograph.

Where did you get these values?

From the official CRP PO/MT-XVI detailed notification on ibps.in, Annexure III, read directly and checked on 2026-11-08 — and cross-checked against the same annexure on IBPS's registration portal.

Rejected anyway? Work through why portals reject files — the cause is usually the 1,000-vs-1,024 KB counting trap or dimensions, not the file size alone. See also all portal presets and how KBExact works.
